So I went to my grandmother’s this weekend, I needed a little get-away and it was really nice to be almost completely out of pocket for a couple of days. (And by almost I mean that the reception on our phones was so bad that we really couldn’t get online most of the time or anything!)
But that doesn’t mean I didn’t get anything done. I finished the embroidery on my purple corset, and got a bit more done on the pants (hoping to finish that up tonight). We got home around lunch yesterday, watched the Doctor Who announcement and hung out with Ash for a bit, and then I started on 70s Supergirl!
Supergirl I was holding out on because I didn’t know if I’d have time/funds. I’m still keeping it a “kind-of” surprise and only talking about it here.
I got all the fabric for this Saturday, came home and cut out my patterns and then put it all together. I got most of it done yesterday!
I made the leotard and shorts. I’m just using my Scarlet Witch boots instead of making something new, and since I’m remaking my Batgirl belt totally for this year, I salvaged the old belt to use for this costume. I’m going to add some belt boxes to it.
And then while I was still wearing all that, I cut out, hemmed and finished the cape, too.
So all I need is for my patch for the top to come, hem the sleeves (I ran out of blue bobbin and didn’t feel like replacing it…) and finish up the belt. And tada I have a new, simple, comfy costume to wear this year. I mean yeah I did already have Trillian, but if Trillian gets too hot, I have Supergirl too now 🙂
